Raphanus sativus
Un cultivo rápido de temporada fresca de raíz en la familia de las mostazas (Brassicaceae), cultivado por su raíz engrosada, crujiente y picante, y por sus hojas comestibles. Se cree que se originó en el sur de Asia, donde se han encontrado formas verdaderamente silvestres; escritores griegos y romanos ya describían tipos suaves, picantes, redondos y alargados en la Antigüedad.
