Una perenne de vida corta amante del sol y tolerante a la sequia, de la familia de las margaritas, apreciada por su larga sucesion de flores tipo margarita con bandas rojas y amarillas desde principios de verano hasta la helada. Nativa del oeste y centro de Norteamerica, prospera en suelos pobres y de drenaje agudo y es una de las plantas polinizadoras mas fiables para canteros a pleno sol, calurosos y secos, siempre que nunca quede con los pies mojados.
